Who we are

A digital innovation centre
dedicated to training and learning

The Luxembourg Media and Digital Design Centre (LMDDC) is an Economic Interest Grouping gathering the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth (MENEJ), and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), created to support national activities related to digital learning and to operate service and innovation platforms.

Our missions

Hosting platform

Develop and maintain a hosting platform for digital learning. Make the systems and data of the stakeholders in the ecosystem interoperable.

Innovative digital media

Assisting our partners to design and produce innovative digital media and content for online and in situ digital learning.

Technical assistance

Provide advisory services and technical assistance to support innovation in digital learning and its implementation.

Dissemination activities

Carry out technology and business intelligence as well as dissemination activities in digital learning.

Our values

Common good

We consider education and training, including all their technological tools and supports, as a common good. By using Open Source software and content, we ensure freedom to operate for our partners.

Sovereignity

We ensure sovereignity and neutrality by developing and hosting all our IT systems and content, such as data and platforms, localy in Luxembourg or within the EU.

Interoperability

All our services are accessible via standardised protocols to ensure maximum interoperability. The same applies to media content, which is made platform-independent through the use of standard formats.

Openness

All our digital services are highly modular, standards-compliant and available to our partners; each of them can be integrated into their IT infrastructure.
